Qatar Wastewater Treatment Plant
Aguas de Valencia Internacional currently operates one of Qatar’s largest wastewater treatment plants, with a total capacity of 350,000 m³ per day, equivalent to the treatment of water generated by over 1.1 million people.
The facility consists of an existing plant (70,000 m³/day) and a new extension (280,000 m³/day), supported by a team of 156 highly skilled professionals.
It integrates advanced technologies for biological treatment, ultrafiltration, UV disinfection, and sustainable sludge management, with dewatered sludge reused as fuel in the local cement industry.
Thanks to real-time digital monitoring and process automation, the plant has achieved a 20% reduction in energy consumption and a 7% reduction in chemical use, maintaining over 99.9% operational availability and 100% compliance with quality standards.
A benchmark facility in the region that combines technology, efficiency, and sustainability to build a more resilient future in the face of climate change.
Taif Region Wastewater Treatment Plants (Saudi Arabia)
In Saudi Arabia, Aguas de Valencia Internacional is leading the LTOM 4 Project, a long-term operation and maintenance contract for the Wadi Al Araj 1 and 2 wastewater treatment plants in the Taif region, with a combined capacity of 147,000 m³ per day.
Over the 15-year contract period (2025–2039), a team of more than 90 professionals will oversee the rehabilitation, modernization, and efficient operation of both facilities in collaboration with the National Water Company (NWC).
This key project will enhance the efficiency of wastewater treatment, reduce environmental impact, and ensure the supply of high-quality treated water to thousands of residents in Taif, contributing to the region’s sustainable development.
Another example of Aguas de Valencia Internacional’s commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, and technological innovation in the integrated management of the water cycle.
Al-Badaa Water Recycling and Recovery Hub – Saudi Arabia
Aguas de Valencia Internacional is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Al-Badaa Water Recycling and Recovery (WRRP) Hub, a key facility in Saudi Arabia designed to treat, recover, and reuse wastewater with a total capacity of 5,000 m³ per day.
The hub currently includes a Water Recycling Plant, Tanker Receiving Stations, a treatment Lagoon, and a Recycled Water Filling Station, providing high-quality recycled water for irrigation and construction uses. The project also supports the development of future assets such as a Biosolids Treatment Facility, a Water Innovation Center, a Biosolids Demonstration Center, and a Chemical Dosing Plant for phosphorus removal.
Its operational scope covers O&M services, laboratory operations, performance monitoring, asset management, HSE management, environmental and social oversight, emergency response, traffic management, and compliance with contractual KPIs. The project also prioritizes ** sludge thickening, dewatering, solar drying, and liquor treatment** to produce reusable biosolids.
Through a comprehensive and sustainability-driven approach, this hub strengthens water resilience in the region while ensuring full compliance with Saudi environmental and regulatory standards.
